As the new HQs of the International Centre of Films for Children and Young People – CIFEJ, EKKOMED shares the latest highlights of CIFEJ’s dynamic presence at key global events, as well as CIFEJ’s publication and upcoming educational activities, aimed at promoting an inclusive, creative and quality film culture for younger generations.
In 2025, CIFEJ President, Mr. Jitendra Mishra represented the organization at three major international festivals: the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Kristiansand International Children’s Film Festival (Norway), and the 55th Giffoni Film Festival (Italy). At Cannes, Mr. Mishra notably participated in the Roundtable for International Film Festivals & Markets at the Bharat Pavilion. Overall, all three festivals provided valuable opportunities for CIFEJ to extend its network, expand its global partnerships, elevate its international visibility and promote thought leadership in the field of film education and production for children and youth.

As of September 2025, CIFEJ is also launching a series of educational initiatives, focused on media literacy and creative development. Upcoming activities include film therapy workshops for children from vulnerable groups, in collaboration with Cinematherapy by EKKOMED, online webinars featuring successful case studies and educational tools such as the CINEDU platform, as well as a ‘From A to Z Animation Workshop Guide’ supported by Animation Festival ANIMASYROS. Revolving around Creative Hub’s Media and Film Literacy educational agenda, these initiatives, intend to strengthen CIFEJ’s longstanding relationship with UNESCO, recently reaffirmed through its registration in the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Alliance.
Meet CIFEJ COSMOS

CIFEJ has also recently launched its upgraded international journal, CIFEJ COSMOS (see first edition here), following the transfer of its HQs to Athens. Containing both news as well as more in-depth content, and named after the Greek word for “world,” COSMOS highlights CIFEJ’s universal reach and offers a platform of intercultural exchange among educators, filmmakers, policy experts, and youth advocates who share a commitment to fostering a productive and thorough dialogue through film and storytelling.
