Sofia Beretanou is a journalist and communication specialist with extensive experience in media, political communication, and international affairs. She has worked as a political and diplomatic editor at Alpha TV and as a radio producer and host at Alpha Radio 98.9, where she curated and presented a daily political and cultural magazine. In 2018, she served as Head of Press and Communications for Pavlos Geroulanos’ campaign for Mayor of Athens. Previously, she was a scientific associate at former Prime Minister George Papandreou’s office, and she has collaborated with the Athens News Agency, as well as the newspapers To Vima and Imerisia. She has participated in diplomatic delegations of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Balkans and Ankara.
She holds a BA in Social Anthropology and History from the University of the Aegean, an MBA in Marketing Management from the London School of Business and Finance, and a Master’s in Political Communication and the Internet from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Communication and Media Studies of the same university. Since 2020, she has been producing and hosting a political and cultural radio program on Athina 9.84 FM. That same year, she joined EKOME, and since 2023 she has served as Head of Communications and Public Relations at EKKOMED (Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center).
