The Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center (EKKOMEΔ) supported again this year the Chania Film Festival — a distinguished institution in the field of cinema that continues to enrich its activities and foster dialogue between cinema and education.
EKKOMEΔ was represented at the 13th Chania Film Festival by Alexandra Kitsanta, Head of Film Education and Awareness at the Film Education and Heritage Unit, who presented the Organization’s educational programs as well as the initiatives it supports in the field of audiovisual and film literacy.
Once again, the “Walter Lassally Educational Creation Award” was presented — an award established and supported by EKKOMEΔ, aimed at promoting film literacy, encouraging creative participation within the educational community, and highlighting historical and social issues.
In addition, for the second consecutive year, a workshop was held showcasing the CINEDU Digital Platform for Film Education in Schools. Theodora Malliarou, Curator of School Screenings and Educational Material at CINEDU, presented the platform and guided participants through its use with practical examples in a fruitful discussion with teachers.
EKKOMED actively supports initiatives that promote the international outreach of Greek audiovisual production and strengthen the film and creative sector.
