The Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center (EKKOMED) participated in the 13th Panhellenic Conference of the Hellenic Pedagogical Society, held from 7 to 9 November 2025 at the Marasleio School of Primary Education in Athens.
The Conference was organized in collaboration with the School of Education Sciences of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
During the Conference, EKKOMED delivered a presentation by Katerina Virvidaki, Coordinator of CIFEJ’s Office in Athens, and Theodora Malliarou, Curator of School Screenings and Educational Materials at CINEDU showcasing its initiatives in Media Education and Creative Learning, with a particular focus on its digital movie platform for schools, CINEDU.
During the conference, EKKOMED delivered a presentation by Katerina Virvidaki, Coordinator of CIFEJ’s Office in Athens, and Theodora Malliarou, Curator of School Screenings and Educational Material at CINEDU, showcasing its initiatives in media education and creative learning, with a particular focus on its digital movie platform for schools, CINEDU.
The presentation highlighted Film Education and Audiovisual Literacy as dynamic tools that inspire creativity, promote collaboration, and cultivate critical thinking.
It also explored the potential of integrating cinema into the educational process, both as a means of fostering media literacy and for developing active citizenship skills among students.
Through targeted programs and collaborations with schools, EKKOMED reaffirms its role as an organization that connects the Greek audiovisual sector with international trends and initiatives, strengthening Greece’s contribution to the global dialogue on Media and Information Education.
At the same time, it promotes policies that link audiovisual creation with education, critical thinking, and democratic participation in the digital age.
