The Digital Movie Platform for Schools – CINEDU – continued its operation in 2024–2025, enabling teachers in primary and secondary education to screen films and make use of the available educational materials.
Within the framework of the audiovisual and film education programmes of EKKOMED’s Creative Hub GR, CINEDU remains fully accessible to all schools in Greece, with free registration for teachers, aiming to strengthen the presence of cinema in school life.

During its second year of operation:
- More than 7,000 teachers used CINEDU in their classrooms, in schools across the country.
- The platform’s reach expanded to over 2,300 schools, with increased participation from areas with limited access to cinemas, such as islands and remote mountainous regions.
- A total of 97 films – including fiction, animation, and documentaries – and 3 tutorials are available, accompanied by educational materials aligned with the National Curriculum, facilitating their integration into the learning process.
In parallel, teacher training activities were carried out in collaboration with Regional Directorates of Education, along with presentations in targeted initiatives and educational institutions, aiming for a deeper and more meaningful use of CINEDU as a teaching tool in everyday classroom practice.

The second full year of CINEDU confirmed the strong interest in integrating cinema into the educational process. In an era when students grow up in a digital world, the opportunity to engage creatively and critically with audiovisual content within the school environment is of particular importance.

The project was co-funded by Greece and the European Union (European Social Fund – ESF) through the Operational Programme Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning (NSRF 2014–2020) and is now part of EKKOMED’s Creative Hub GR.
