Between June 26 and July 2, 2025, EKKOMED disbursed payments for 28 investment plans that had been approved under the Cash Rebate financing program (Law 4487/2017). The total amount allocated reached €17.2 million.
Breakdown:
- €11.6 million was disbursed for domestic investment projects
- €5.6 million for international productions that chose Greece as a filming location
By type of project:
- €5.15 million for fiction films (domestic and international)
- €11.23 million for fiction series (domestic and international)
- Approximately €280,000 for documentaries (films and series)
- €426,000 for animation
- €137,000 for post-production
These projects mobilized €32 million in private funds for the Greek economy, including €10.3 million from international productions that invested and operated in the country.
The €17.2 million adds to the €17.7 million disbursed between January and March 2025, bringing total payments for the first half of the year to €35 million.
The Cash Rebate funding tool continues to act as a steady driver of growth for Greece’s audiovisual sector, enhancing market liquidity, creating jobs, and positioning the country as a globally competitive destination for film and television productions.
