ΕΚΚΟΜΕΔ participated in Athens Music Week 2026, actively contributing to the European dialogue on shaping interconnected creative ecosystems, with a focus on music, audiovisual production, innovation, and emerging technologies.
As part of the event, the CEO of ΕΚΚΟΜΕΔ, Leonidas Christopoulos, took part in the panel discussion titled “Creative Ecosystems in Motion: Building Connections in Southeast Europe,” alongside policymakers and representatives of Europe’s cultural and creative sectors.
The discussion focused on the need to develop a cohesive European network for collaboration and funding, the importance of a common policy framework for the cultural and audiovisual sectors, as well as the new opportunities emerging through the intersection of music with innovation, technology, and artificial intelligence.

At the same time, executives of ΕΚΚΟΜΕΔ participated in the panels “From Policy to Practice: Supporting Music SMEs in a Changing Ecosystem” and “Building the Music Ecosystem: Investment, Resilience and Cross-Sector Collaboration,” presenting the Organization’s strategic priorities for strengthening the international outreach of the cultural and creative industries. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to map the music ecosystem, the importance of European funding instruments, the development of synergies among different creative sectors, and the creation of a modern framework that supports innovation and the production of high value-added content.
Athens Music Week 2026 was supported and funded by ΕΚΚΟΜΕΔ through the Extroversion Programme 2026 – AV FUSION. Through this initiative, ΕΚΚΟΜΕΔ supports actions that promote interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration, integrating music, audiovisual content, digital technologies, and innovation into a unified strategic development framework.
As the unified public body responsible for the development and support of the audiovisual industry in Greece, ΕΚΚΟΜΕΔ continues to shape policies that strengthen the country’s international competitiveness, leverage European resources, and build stable bridges of cooperation with European creative ecosystems.
