Georgia Papanikolopoulou
Greek Film Distribution Programs Manager
Georgia Papanikolopoulou is Head of Greek Film Distribution Programs at Hellas Film since October 2024. Her main responsibilities include designing and implementing initiatives that strengthen the distribution of Greek films both in Greece and abroad, as well as supporting the vitality of the national cinema network. She also acts as the National Correspondent for certification of admissions under the European Film Distribution action of the Creative Europe Programme. Before joining Hellas Film, she worked as Advisor to the CEO at the National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication (EKOME), focusing on audiovisual sector projects with a particular emphasis on film education.
Earlier in her career, she worked at the Ministry of Interior as Advisor to the Secretary General and held various senior policy and coordination roles, specialising in public finance, EU programmes, and administrative reform. Drawing on her broad experience in public administration and her deep understanding of institutional frameworks, she contributes to shaping public policy in the fields of culture and the creative industries.
Georgia holds a Bachelor’s degree in International and European Economic Studies from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and a Master’s degree in Governance and Public Administration from Complutense University of Madrid. She is also a graduate of the National School of Public Administration and Local Government (EKDDA).
A certified Executive and Team Coach, she teaches Coaching and Mentoring at EKDDA, focusing on contemporary communication methods, mindfulness and self-awareness practices, and leadership and social skills that foster collaboration and personal growth. Her work is driven by a strong belief in the power of teams and in the ways personal development intersects with art and expression in cinema.
She speaks English, French and Spanish. Her commitment to cultural management is inspired by her personal engagement with dance, yoga and photography, through which she cultivates a holistic professional approach to the creative industries and particularly to film.
