Iliana Zakopoulou is the Head of Promotion & International Markets (Hellas Film) at the Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center, where she oversees the participation of both funded and independent Greek films in international festivals and audiovisual markets.

She holds a degree in French Literature and has extensive professional experience in film festivals. In her role, she provides strategic guidance to producers and filmmakers on international promotion and premiere planning. She also acts as a sales agent for films without global distribution, promoting them to festival programmers, distributors, television networks, and other industry professionals. Her responsibilities include supervising the creation and delivery of targeted promotional materials such as catalogs, invitations, and trailers.

Iliana is responsible for organizing and coordinating Greece’s presence at major international festivals and markets, including Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, Toronto, Locarno, Sundance, Tribeca, Rotterdam, Karlovy Vary, San Sebastian, IDFA, Clermont-Ferrand, and Annecy. She also curates and oversees tributes, retrospectives, and film-focused events in collaboration with international festivals, museums, universities, cultural institutions, and associations.

Her work involves close cooperation with embassies and ministries to support cultural diplomacy and enhance the global visibility of Greek cinema. She has additionally contributed to sponsorship and partnership initiatives that strengthen the outreach and promotional efforts of Hellas Film.

Iliana has served as a jury member at more than five major international film festivals, bringing her expertise in film promotion, distribution, and festival strategy to the selection process.
