EXTROVERSION PROGRAM FOR THE
AUDIOVISUAL SECTOR

The Audiovisual Creative Sector Extroversion Programme of the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Centre was established under Article 44 of Law 5105/2024 and constitutes the annual framework of actions through which the organisation strengthens the presence of Greek cinema and audiovisual production in Greece and abroad. It is approved each year by the Board of Directors, following a proposal by the CEO, and concerns the following year.

The Programme supports festivals, events and/or initiatives aimed at enhancing the outward orientation of Greek audiovisual creation in Greece and internationally.

Programme Objectives

Strengthening and maturation of Greek institutions
The Programme supports the substantive development of Greek film and audiovisual institutions, enhancing their international networking, professional presence, and creative collaborations. Through targeted participation in festivals, markets, creative marketplaces, and European networks, it creates new opportunities for funding, co-productions, and strategic partnerships. The objective is for Greek organisations to evolve towards more sustainable and competitive operating models, reducing exclusive reliance on public funding.

A unified audiovisual ecosystem
The Programme adopts an expanded “fusion” approach, treating the audiovisual sector as a field where culture, technology, and creative innovation coexist. Beyond film, television, and animation, it incorporates hybrid forms of creation such as new media art, visual arts practices, music, digital platforms, and cultural heritage. Within this framework, the new AV Fusion category under Axis C highlights the audiovisual sector as a driver of innovation, extroversion, and economic growth.

Environmental sustainability
Actions supported in 2026 must incorporate environmentally sustainable practices. Reducing environmental footprint, adopting green practices, and promoting sustainable production contribute to shaping a responsible, modern, and environmentally conscious audiovisual ecosystem, fully aligned with European standards.

Ambassadors of Greek audiovisual creation
Each action funded under the Programme functions as an ambassador of contemporary Greek creation, both domestically and internationally. Festivals, exhibitions, professional initiatives, and events showcase the quality, dynamism, and innovation of the Greek audiovisual ecosystem, enhancing public understanding and the country’s international image.
