E.K.K.O.ME.D., within the framework of the Promotion and Distribution Programme for Greek Cinema, hereby publishes the present Call for Applications for Action 2, “Support for Cinema Theatres Screening Greek Films”, in order to allow interested cinema owners and operators sufficient time to prepare and gather the necessary supporting documentation prior to the opening of the application period in September 2026.
The present Call concerns exclusively the transitional implementation period of the Action for the year 2026 and, more specifically, tickets for Greek films issued during the period from 1 January 2026 to 31 August 2026.
Submission of Applications
Application Period: 1 September 2026 to 30 September 2026
Each beneficiary shall submit one application per Tax Identification Number (TIN), which may include one or more cinema establishments.
Applications shall be submitted electronically at: https://e-services.ekkomed.gr/
Action Budget
The total budget of the Action amounts to EUR 700,000. Financial support shall be calculated on an ex post basis, according to the number of eligible paid tickets issued for Greek films, and may amount to up to EUR 0.70 per ticket, as well as a possible bonus, in accordance with the terms of the Programme. The maximum amount of support shall be EUR 25,000 per cinema establishment and EUR 100,000 in total per beneficiary (TIN).
Only paid tickets at regular price shall be considered eligible, namely tickets with a value of EUR 2 (VAT included) or higher.
Should the total amount requested exceed the available budget, the support amounts shall be proportionally adjusted for all beneficiaries.
Basic Eligibility Requirements
The use of an electronic ticketing system and the ability to electronically transmit the relevant tax data constitute a prerequisite for the submission of an application.

Supporting Documents at the Application Stage
The required supporting documents at the application stage are the following:
a) General Supporting Documents
• Declaration on Honour by the legal representative:
a) accepting the terms and conditions of the Action, any on-site and sample-based audits, as well as the cross-checking of data against tax and accounting records and
b) declaring that all information submitted is complete and accurate.
• Valid operating licence or other equivalent document evidencing lawful operation for each establishment applying for support.
• Certificate of Greek Nationality for each recent-production film title. For older Greek films for which no Certificate of Greek Nationality exists, the Greek character of the film shall be documented under the responsibility of the beneficiary through available evidence (indicatively: production and distribution information, participation in official databases or catalogues of cinematographic works) and shall be verified by E.K.K.O.ME.D.
• In the event of a bonus claim: detailed description of quality initiatives, accompanied by the relevant supporting documentation.
b) Supporting Documents for the Legal Verification of Beneficiaries
The supporting documents must have been issued recently, as they remain valid for three months.
NATURAL PERSONS (SOLE PROPRIETORSHIPS)
• Printout from the AADE website containing the registration details of the sole proprietorship.
• General Certificate issued by GEMI.
• Unified Certificate of Judicial Solvency issued by the Court of First Instance of the seat of the sole proprietorship.
LEGAL ENTITIES (G.P., L.P., S.A., P.C., etc.)
• Articles of Association of the company and any amendments thereto, or a recent codified version thereof (all in PDF format).
• Printout from the AADE website containing the company registration details.
• General Certificate of the company issued by GEMI.
• Certificate of Current Representation issued by GEMI.
• Unified Certificate of Judicial Solvency issued by the Court of First Instance of the company’s registered seat.
c) Supporting Documents for Ticket Certification
Detailed export from the ticketing system per film title, in editable CSV or XLSX format, including at least the following information:
➢ Screen name (or code)
➢ Film title
➢ Distributor
➢ Screening dates
➢ Number of tickets issued
➢ Number of paid tickets
➢ Gross and net ticket revenue per screening
Relevant invoices.
Electronic borderaux.
Supporting Documents at the Payment Stage
The required supporting documents at the payment stage are the following:
• Social Security Clearance Certificate (for the collection of cleared claims from the State, Public Law Entities, Local Government Authorities and the wider Public Sector).
• Tax Clearance Certificate (for the collection of funds from public sector entities other than Central Government).
• Declaration of the payment IBAN and bank account certification.
• Declaration on Honour regarding compliance with the Counterbenefits requirements.
• Upload of the beneficiary’s Electronic Invoice.
Verification and Payment Procedure
Following the expiry of the application deadline, E.K.K.O.ME.D. shall conduct a completeness check, cross-check the submitted information and certify the declared tickets. Financial support shall be paid on an ex post basis following completion of the verification process and final certification of the submitted data.
E.K.K.O.ME.D. reserves the right to conduct sample-based and/or on-site audits.
Counterbenefits
Taking into account that the present Call concerns a transitional implementation period of the Action and is published after the commencement of the eligible period, it is reasonable that certain cinema theatres may not have already implemented the prescribed Counterbenefits.
For this reason, beneficiaries approved under the Action shall, following completion of the funding process, display in a visible location within the cinema theatre a card indicating that the cinema theatre is supported by E.K.K.O.ME.D.
The relevant template and graphic material shall be made available through the application platform.
